Mark, please email me at georgianorml@facebook.com -- I agree that you shouldn't have to join fb to be active in our group - please send me your number if you're comfortable with that, and I will give you a call. We can definitely use some help. I asked the person monitoring the email to check it. I forwarded your message actually. Thank you for your feedback!

I am a retired/disabled Nurse that worked for the state in alcohol and drug rehab centers for 13 years. I have seen the dangers and harm that has been caused from alcohol and other street drugs, over the years but none from Cannabis. I think that letting the terminal ill patients have this medication would greatly help them in their life. It has not been proven to cause harm in the body or lungs like cigarettes and alcohol. People can already get THC the chemical property of cannabis with prescriptions now for cancer, glacoma and Aids Patients. I think it is about time that medical approved Pharmacies could be allowed to handle getting the medical cannabis to patients with the right prescriptions and documentation for the control of medical problems that certain people have with these diagnosis. Other States gave done this and why can''t Georgia.

I want to help, but is a cash donation the only way? Does NORML not need "feet on the ground" getting the word out?
I've tried for years to find an answer to this question
with no avail.
Don't get me wrong, I love the work NORML does, but people with no job or money should'nt be left out of this fight.
I would personally like to see NORML find more ways for us to help without holding their hand's out for a buck.
I have been on the front lines in this activest war for several years now, sending in my letters to my reps, and it seems to me that's the only "free" option NORML offer's.
NORML needs ALL the help they can get, as the opposition does everything in their power to see that canna users have to jump through every hoop they can come up with, just to make ends meet finatually, that is one of the main changes that needs to be made.
Please tell me that NORML does'nt "only" want our money and will not even waste time with non-donators! What's up with that?
I want to help, but how?
GA NORML has an unpresidented oppertunity to set a new standard in how it get's things done...please don't let it go to waste and please don't tell me that money is the only answer because that just aint true.

It's like this, as myself and so many others are recently unemploied, due to the failing economy, I find it hard to want to make a cash donation to any cause, even one as noble as this, when my wallet and my gas tank both sit on empty.
The only action I find myself being able to do is going to the "take action" section of NORML's site and sending in those letters to our reps.
I have been involved with the canna activest community for years now & was once a moderator @ 420 magazine, in which I was given the task of moderating the activest section of that site until my computer crashed and I could no longer do any online research...bummer!
I have tried to find out ways to get involved with NORML but, their seems to be no way of doing this unless I spend money with them.
I find this upsetting that NORML has nothing to offer someone who wants to help but, dos'nt have the cash to do so.
My time with 420 magazine taught me how to draw people's interest in changing these horrable laws and how to write articals on why they should be changed.
I guess the bottom line is that, even the poor folks want to help the cause, but NORML only wants donations...this just CANT be the only way for people to help their cause...can it?
My personal openion is that Georgia is a MAJOR stepping stone in federal decriminalization because of the nature of the "bible belt" mentality and will prove to be one of the toughest states to get this done in.
GA NORML will ALL the help it can get and y'all should start looking into ways people can donate their time instead of their hard earned money.
Their has got to be something we can do to help, without taking food out of our kids mouths, gas out of our tanks, needed meds for our health & so on.
What can we do? Help set up rallies? Hand out fliers? What?

Facebook really? I'm not trying to hide from anyone but I'm also not up for my information being sold or shared with people I don't know. Facebook lacks integrity.

I'm bothered by the fact that I have sent in emails based off of the website. No one thought to set up forwarding? If you need help in making sure communication is up and running, please allow me to help in some way.

I'm happy to see your not dead. A little more communication would be grateful. I haven't donated any money yet. Hard to put money into a basket unless you know where it is going.

I'm sorry but I will not be able to join you in your facebook page.

Ok, I used to be a moderator for 420 magazine and my primary gole was to bring awareness to people about legalization and to let the unaware know that their IS hope for cannabis users, medical & recreational alike! I read an artical in the High Times website once and it truly hit a nerve with me, I cant remember the writers name but, he said it best, when he posed the qusetion & the answer at the same time; "why is marijuana still illegal? BECAUSE PEOPLE DON'T ASK FOR IT TO BE LEGAL, PERIOD!" He was exactly right on the money because the people of Georgia (and other states) have been kept under such a tight militant thumb that they are truly terrified of law enforcment and their "throw your ass in prison" attitude towards the people they are supposed to "protect & serve" instead they overfill our prisons with nonviolent people who were doing little more than posessing plant matter that has NO track record of causing death to ANYONE! EVER! Do'nt believe me? Look it up! Now that being said, here is what we do... Go in to the activest portion of this site, find your state rep's and send in that letter! Then talk to EVERYONE you know and get them to do the same...I don't mean just a couple of people, I mean EVERYONE! Because this is EVERYONE'S problem. I would highly recomend to not only send the prewritten request for legalization but, write to them in your own words how you feel as well as any horror stories you may have as you might just strike a nerve. One thing I find with the people I talk to about this is that they think they will be investigated if they send a letter like this but, they need to know that they are well within their constitutional rights to express concerns of ANY kind to their rep's as well as it is unlawful for them to retaliate against your freedom of speach in any way! The thing I like to express to people is that they sould'nt complain if they are'nt willing to help change the current situation...this "sit back and let the other guy do everything" aint gonna' fly! Just think about it, if EVERY canna user, I mean EVERY SINGLE one of us in Georgia, or the whole country for that matter, would just make an effort to do something about our current lawmakers decisions they would have no choice but to do as they are told, or be voted out...remember, they work for us and we don't do dictatorship in the USA!

I love the idea. But I wish we could push for full legalization on the scale of private use.
